Plant this garden collection to help rebuild our beloved Monarch population.  The Monarch Garden collection includes 11 species of native wildflowers to provide foraging from spring to fall and larval host plants for ensuring the successful next generation.  Most of the native wildflowers in this collection tend to be short-lived but a bit rambunctious in reseeding or spreading by roots and are selected to provide constant and overlapping flowering.  Maintain this naturalizing garden by providing a watchful eye, allowing the plants to find there own niches with some gentle editing in spring to eliminate any rogue reseeding or spreading. 

Species to include:

Early Flowering:  Penstemon digitalis (Beartongue), Echinacea purpurea (Purple Coneflower).

Mid-Season Flowering:  Asclepias incarnata (Swamp Milkweed), Asclepias syriaca (Common Milkweed), Eutrochium purpureum (Sweet Joe-Pye Weed), Monarda fistulosa (Wild Bergamot), Achillea millefolium (Yarrow).

Late Flowering:  Rudbeckia hirta (Black-Eyed Susan), Eupatorium perfoliatum (Common Boneset), Symphiotrichum novae-angliae (New England Aster), Solidago caesia (Blue Stem Goldenrod).
